A Guide to Booths Park

Booths Park is a vibrant and dynamic business hub and workspace in the heart of Knutsford, Cheshire, comprising eight buildings, including Booths Hall, Booths Park 1-5, Springwood, Booths Hall and PortSwigger. The 14th-century heritage site offers modern amenities and stunning natural surroundings, spread across 220 acres of picturesque parkland and providing access to the charming market town of Knutsford. Since we purchased the park in 2004, the on-site Booths Hall and several other buildings have been redeveloped into more than office spaces. Instead, the complex has become an environment dedicated to helping businesses grow and succeed. Starting with the brand new Peloton bike studio, with a full range of Peloton fitness classes streamed in the neighbouring wellness suite, complete with showers and changing room facilities. There are also running tracks and a Cycle Score-accredited bike hub which complement the onsite food and drink offer from local independent trader, Tatton Perk, demonstrating how Booths Park encourages an active work-life balance for all occupants and their employees.

Booths Park offers a wide range of office spaces, such as coworking spaces and meeting rooms, all tailored to suit businesses of any size, from startups to multinationals. In addition, the site includes access to the Springwood building, our serviced office space hub that offers fitted-out suites available in a variety of sizes, alongside six additional purpose-built buildings with large floor plates. This provides a perfect workspace solution for every business need, with several well-known businesses residing on-site, including Barclaycard and Sir Robert McAlpine.

Booths Hall

A Brief History of Booths Hall and Knutsford

Booths Hall, part of the Booths Park estate, was constructed in 1292 has been a prominent landmark in Knutsford for centuries. Originally built as a family home for the aristocratic Legh family in 1745, Booths Hall has witnessed significant historical events and played an important role in the community.

Its location, just down the road from the renowned Tatton Park Country Park—one of the UK’s most complete historical estates—adds to its cultural significance. Tatton Park boasts an old Tudor Hall, a stunning Neo-Classical Mansion, and 50 acres of meticulously landscaped gardens, making it a key part of the area's rich heritage and, more importantly, a key historical site, primarily due to its role during D-day.

Knutsford is home to 17 blue plaques, commemorating key historical events and notable figures that have shaped the town’s history. Subsequently, Booths Hall and Park have evolved significantly in recent years, from a private estate to a successful business ecosystem, maintaining historical charm while offering modern business facilities.

The Evolution of Booths Park

Booths Park has undergone significant redevelopment in recent years to cement its reputation as a premier business hub in the north. One key milestone of this development was constructing bespoke and hi-spec, 62,000 sq ft global headquarters for the software company PortSwigger. The site is a testament to our ability to meet the demands of growing and innovative businesses. In addition, the refurbishment of Booths Park No.2 means the new arrival space and common areas have been transformed to deliver timeless simplicity, inspired by the green parkland surroundings of Booths Park. These refurbished spaces encourage integrated working and allow businesses and the community to come together. Biophilia, contemporary artwork and lighting balances with pale wooden tones to create an airy, calm space, with both booths and breakout spaces centred around a new customer lounge. This includes soft seating and a modern open-plan design,  creating an efficient working environment that caters to businesses of all sizes.

This space aligns with our ongoing development strategy, focusing on sustainability. With a commitment to green building practices, this focus extends to supporting local biodiversity, with the maintenance of extensive green spaces undertaken to bolster the natural beauty of the local parkland and beyond. Another key example is the upcoming Ev0 Building, situated nearby in Didsbury, which will be fully electric, with solar panels providing 94% of predicted energy use when fully developed. The space will offer cutting-edge technology and focus on sustainability, enabling it to become one of the greenest office buildings in the region.

These developments at Booths Park and beyond help to ensure these spaces remain flexible and future-ready locations for businesses while preserving local landscapes to create truly unique business communities.
