Characterful and contemporary space in the heart of the city
Originally built in 1954, The Exchange was previously home to Manchester’s telephone exchange and designed to provide secure communications in the event of nuclear war. This piece of historical Manchester has since been transformed inside and out to create over 40,000 sq ft of workspace across five floors, benefiting from large floorplates and high ceilings flooding spacious suites with plenty of natural light.
Located on New York Street, close to Piccadilly and St Peter’s Square, locating here means you benefit from being in the heart of the city - transport links, shops, restaurants are all on your doorstep, giving you the full city centre experience.
Our in-house building team will take the hassle out of running an office and your staff will love the location and all it has to offer. Whatever your business, making The Exchange your base means you’ll always make an impression.

Manchester City Centre
At the very centre of the city, the area around New York Street is ideal for shopping and quick bites. The city’s coolest neighbourhood The Northern Quarter is just minutes away on foot. Built for weavers ahead of the Industrial Revolution, these days their cottages are the home to independent bars, cafes and shops. This is the place to see most of the city’s street art, and to buy unique or vintage gifts, and there’s amazing coffee on every corner. And for a hit of culture the Manchester Art Gallery lies five minutes away towards St Peter’s Square.Get directions
