Trove completes line-up of lifestyle brands at Bruntwood Works' Bloc
By Bruntwood Works
Independent cafe and sourdough bakery, Trove, is coming to the city centre within Bruntwood Works’ newly redeveloped Bloc building. It will be the first central city site for the brand who are set to open a beautiful, inventive coffee and food destination on the ground floor of Bloc on 1st June.
Trove will complete the lifestyle mix at the new exciting Bloc development joining BrewDog, The Dog House Hotel and FORM fitness to create a perfectly blended mix of independent and innovative brands transforming the previously underused Fountain Street area of the city centre.
Established in Levenshulme back in 2011, Trove are bringing their concept to Bloc following the success of their second site in Ancoats. Trove at Bloc will serve up their distinctive offering of artisan coffee and nutritious, handmade food and drink on the ground floor of Bloc, accessible via the building’s main entrance on Marble Street, creating a new Trove cafe experience for the city centre as well as the Bloc business community. Taking over a 1,000 sq ft space, Trove will be front and centre of the ground floor arrival experience at Bloc.
Trove’s menu is about taking care of ourselves via good food - whether that be a handmade sweet treat or granola and fresh fruit, it’s about beautiful food to be savoured, to get excited about, and to power you through the day. The addition of Trove to the Bloc community is a recognition of just how vital good food is to our health and wellbeing, matching the building’s ethos of ‘powering productivity’.
Trove’s own freshly baked bread, pastries and cakes will be at the heart of the menu which will be focused around good, seasonal food and its connection to wellness. Whether it’s Trove’s famous vegan cooked breakfast or a cold pressed juice and seasonal salad, every dish is created with care using quality, local ingredients. Trove’s famous brunch and breakfast dishes will be central to the menu too including their incredible pastries, also baked fresh at the Trove bakery.
There will be a range of organic raw cold press juices by One Zero Zero as well as new dishes created with an even stronger focus on health and nutrition - prepared especially with post and pre-yoga sessions at Bloc’s basement wellness studio, RESET by FORM, in mind.
Trove will also be serving homemade cordials, craft beers and natural wines. The space will be open plan and informal - perfect for meeting friends over coffee, catching up on emails with a juice or unwinding over a carafe of wine. It will be a place for meeting, eating, chatting and creating.
Trove will launch on 1st June and will be open Monday - Friday from 8am - 5pm.
Marcus Saide, Founder of Trove, said:
“The Bloc ethos fits perfectly with what Trove is all about - taking care of ourselves and investing in wellness. We’ll be serving up all our classic dishes including our freshly baked breads, pastries and our homemade pickles and chutneys, as well as some specially created new menu items for Bloc. As we approach our 10 year anniversary of Trove I can’t think of a better place to create our latest brunch destination.”
Charlotte Wild, Head of Retail at Bruntwood Works said:
“We have long been fans of Trove’s approach to food and drink and we’re absolutely delighted to be welcoming them to the Bloc community. It will create a fresh independent cafe destination for the city too with freshly baked bread and their incredible patisserie offering sitting alongside salads and juices - whether it’s treats or the healthiest of options everything is seasonal, sustainable and good for the soul. The ethos perfectly complements what we’re all about at Bloc too - bringing balance to business and ensuring our customers can take care of themselves.”
Bruntwood Works’ Bloc is set to launch in May with a renewed focus on the work environment to help boost productivity.
The building will feature technology to monitor and optimise air quality, a state-of-the-art wellness suite hosting yoga and fitness classes by FORM, a sleep pod to help workers with vital rest and rejuvenation and a cascading garden in the foyer, with living walls throughout and on the building’s exterior facade
Bruntwood Works’ transformation of Bloc is part of the developer’s £50m Pioneer programme, which will see buildings across the North West, Midlands and Yorkshire reimagined into forward-thinking workspaces that offer innovative designs, individuality, flexibility, increased productivity and community.
