A specialist IT training provider working in partnership with Liverpool’s Metro Mayor has secured a new workspace at Bruntwood Works’ Cotton Exchange.

Netcom Training has been appointed to deliver a skills programme across the Liverpool City Region in conjunction with local businesses and funded by the LCR Combined Authority, led by Mayor Steve Rotheram.

The company will use its new 1,570 sq ft office space at the Bixteth Street building as a platform to deliver a range of online training courses including web design, software development, cyber security, digital design and infrastructure protection.

It joins a number of digital and technology businesses at Cotton Exchange, which boasts a dynamic community of SMEs as well as membership organisations such as Liverpool Chamber of Commerce, Downtown in Business and Professional Liverpool. Customers enjoy free access to Bruntwood Works’ business support programme Spark and the provision of an onsite community team to connect businesses and enhance opportunities for collaboration.

Kevin Vashi, Managing Director at Netcom Training, said: “Over the coming months and years, we want to engage with a wide variety of businesses across the city region. In choosing our Liverpool office, Cotton Exchange was the standout candidate for its warm welcome, excellent facilities and highly-engaged community of ambitious local businesses.

“Contemporary spaces such as the roof terrace, reception area and The Old Hall give us an excellent range of options and opportunities to collaborate with existing contacts and also to connect and work with a wide range of new organisations to really expand our reach in the Liverpool City Region.”

Tony Reed, Head of Commercial at Bruntwood Works, said: “Netcom Training is embarking on a crucial programme to improve digital workplace skills through online training, so it was important for the team to feel connected to the business community.

“Cotton Exchange is an energetic, connected environment where businesses have no shortage of opportunities to come together through well-organised and popular events, from business advice clinics and skills seminars to networking drinks and seasonal celebrations. It promises to be an ideal fit and we cannot wait to welcome Netcom to the community.”

Cotton Exchange has a range of contemporary communal spaces, such as The Old Hall and roof terrace, where businesses come together for events such as seasonal markets, wellbeing classes, advice clinics, networking events and celebrations. It also features a number of meeting and breakout spaces where businesses can collaborate or host visitors, as well as a contemporary welcome space in the building’s reception area, featuring tea and coffee facilities, free Wi-Fi and informal meeting spaces.
