We’re thrilled to announce our partnership with Birmingham Design Festival (BDF). Founded in 2017, the festival is held in June and celebrates the local, national and international design industry and its important connections with Birmingham.

From 9-11th June 2022, BDF features over 100 events and more than 60 speakers in venues across the city centre. It celebrates designers across graphic, digital, product and illustration. This year sees leading creatives land in Birmingham including: Furniture Restorer, Jay Blades MBE of BBC’s ‘The Repair Shop’; Designer & Artist, Morag Myerscough; and Artist & Musician, Gaika.
Supporting Cultural Vibrancy in Birmingham
Bruntwood has been named Digital District Partner for the Festival in 2022. As the Festival’s first commercial property partner, we’re thrilled to be offering Bruntwood SciTech’s Innovation Birmingham campus, as a hub for digital design workshops and seminars that form a central part of the event agenda. During the festival, Innovation Birmingham will be abuzz with the best design talent from around the world, along with keen creatives from Birmingham and across the country. A selection of our customers will have the chance to be hosted at the festival by Bruntwood, learning from industry-leading organisations and individuals.
Bruntwood’s Director for Birmingham and Leeds, Rob Valentine says: “We see so much opportunity in Birmingham. The city has a vast cultural heritage and is positioned to make a powerful contribution to the growth of the UK economy through its well-established business community and world-class academic institutions. The Birmingham Design Festival points the spotlight on Birmingham at a crucial moment in the city’s evolution - something which Bruntwood are proud to play a part in.”
Regenerating the Birmingham Region
As champions of cultural vibrancy, we share BDF’s mission to strengthen Birmingham’s reputation as a destination for culture and the creative industries. Birmingham is a region that’s undergone its own re-design in recent years and Bruntwood is proud to be supporting this regeneration.
From launching the Innovation Birmingham campus, the region's leading digital tech hub and home to over 150 businesses, to the upcoming development of Birmingham Health Innovation Campus which opens in 2023, our significant investments demonstrate our commitment to Birmingham’s continued growth.
Alongside our extensive modern business services proposition, as developed through our Bruntwood Works portfolio, including Cornerblock and Cornwall Buildings, our long term strategy for Birmingham aims to put the city on the international stage.
With a host of exciting new developments, and recent news of a multi-million pound Airport upgrade, as well as hosting the upcoming Commonwealth Games in July 2022, there’s lots to look forward to in Birmingham.
