QV Bioelectronics is a startup company developing a surgically implantable medical device for the treatment of malignant brain tumours using a new form of therapy we call electric field therapy. We first came to Alderley Park in 2019. When we first moved here, we deliberately had in mind that it could be a full life cycle home for the company, and always have that kind of capability to expand and grow.
There's a lot of very experienced people based here; really helps us to get the right connections we need. The Open Access Lab was a really kind of perfect home for the company at the early stages of a startup. I mean, really important for us to generate the pilot data that we needed to then go off and raise investment.
And we're now fortunate enough to be in the position where we've kind of graduated from there—we're moving into a brand new lab space here. The next stages for our business are really about driving our technology forwards towards human trials. So all of our scientists and engineers are very excited about getting access to brand new, cutting-edge equipment that we've ordered, and it's going to make a real kind of step change in the capabilities of our business.
