Market Spotlight Report

The October 21 Market Spotlight Report by Bruntwood SciTech brings to light new research showing that the science and technology sector will lead the way in terms of Net Zero job creation.

The impact of the UK science and tech sector is huge both in terms of economic output as well as the number of people employed; with the sector currently providing nearly one-in-ten of all UK jobs. As the science and technology sector continues to experience unprecedented growth and commands international intention, Bruntwood SciTech are pleased to launch the Market Spotlight report.

The new report will be released quarterly, providing much needed insight into the emerging trends, challenges and opportunities of the sector covering the impact on the economy, investment into the sector, and property trends and dominating deals.

The inaugural report focuses on the UK's transition to Net Zero, and highlights that the science and tech sector will be responsible for over 2/3 of all Net Zero jobs by 2050. It is estimated that the economic benefits from this growth in the science and technology sectors would be worth £35bn to UK GVA by 2050. And it is the North of England that stands to benefit most from new jobs to support the transition to a low-carbon economy (with 111,900 new jobs predicted by 2050).
