Meatworks Set to Open its Doors at Circle Square

Modern steakhouse and eatery, Meatworks, is set to open its first restaurant at Bruntwood SciTech and Vita Group’s Circle Square, on 5th February. With a menu boasting steak house classics, bold small plates and iconic burgers, the UK’s first Meatworks will be located within  Symphony Park and joins the growing community of hospitality innovators at Circle Square.

The burger specialists, who are also the team behind the national smash burger Boo and Midlands-based butchery Halal Editions, have a passion for working with the highest quality suppliers of Irish, grass-fed Aberdeen Angus beef, creating a range of the tastiest dishes.

There will be a mixture of traditional burger patties and smash burgers with plenty of unique flavour combinations. There’ll also be steaks and a range of innovative and distinctive small plates including their signature cheeseburger dumplings and  slow-cooked short rib pancakes. The restaurant will welcome guests all day long from quick lunches to big dinners. Lunchtime value specials will include smash burger and fries for just £10.

The 52 cover restaurant will bring a cool and casual new dining space to Circle Square with the venue designed to create a relaxed experience whilst retaining the character of the space with a stripped back look that embraces the raw materials and modern architecture.

Whilst the restaurant is alcohol-free, the menu includes an array of mocktails, such as their kiwi mojito and lychee and lemongrass mocktail, providing a unique spin on classic cocktail recipes alongside new flavours. There is also a tasty plant-based dish available for meat-free guests.

Meatworks Set to Open its Doors at Circle Square

Circle Square, the landmark neighbourhood from Bruntwood SciTech and Vita Group, is in the heart of Manchester’s Oxford Road Corridor knowledge quarter adjacent to Oxford Road train station. One of Manchester’s most unique places to live, work, eat and drink, it is home to exciting startups and global businesses such as Roku, Bosch, HPE and Autocab, which was acquired by Uber, and is undergoing a further £87m additional retail and workspace expansion at No.3 Circle Square, due to complete in April this year. With some of the most exciting retailers in the city based there, it centred around the free-to-access Symphony Park, and Meatworks will join the likes of Manchester-favourite Onda Pasta Bar, North Tap Room, Federal Cafe Bar, Detroit Slims, Ambers and Doug’s.

Charlotte Wild, Head of Retail & Leisure for Bruntwood SciTech, shared:

“Meatworks represents yet another fantastic new reason to visit Circle Square. After an extraordinary year of new openings in 2024 we’ve built a vibrant community of hospitality innovators here on the Oxford Road Corridor, and it's great to kick off 2025 with another great addition to the community. This independent, quality steak house and eatery will fit perfectly into the destination and we can’t wait to welcome them”

Jake Atkinson, Head of Food & Beverage for Vita Group, said: “We are absolutely delighted to welcome Meatworks to Circle Square.  Known for their exceptional cuts, bold flavours, and attention to detail. Their arrival enhances the diverse dining scene at Circle Square, and we’re excited for Manchester to enjoy a new experience.”

    Mohammed Suleman from Meatworks added:

"We're thrilled to be opening Meatworks and share our passion for great food with the people of Manchester. Burgers and high quality meats are in our DNA and we’re excited to bring our expertise to Circle Square and its growing community. The destination is the perfect location for our first opening in the city. We promise to offer bold flavours and innovative dishes and can't wait to welcome our first customers.”
