Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation is relocating its head office to the Cotton Exchange in Liverpool city centre.

The UK’s only dedicated lung cancer charity was originally founded in the city 28 years ago and funds research into early detection of the disease and the treatment of patients, as well as providing patient information and support.

It is now moving to a 6,500 sq ft space at the Bruntwood-owned building in Bixteth Street, having been previously located at Wavertree Technology Park on the outskirts of the city.

The move complements the charity’s strategy to expand its engagement with commercial supporters and develop new research funding partnerships across the country.

Paula Chadwick, chief executive of Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation, said: “Lung cancer is the deadliest cancer in the UK and our work is focused on improving survival chances for patients by finding new ways to detect the disease earlier and improve the overall patient experience.

“Anyone with lungs can get lung cancer and we are working with NHS England to expedite the roll-out of a national lung health check which could have an immeasurable impact on thousands of lives and reduce the number of families affected by this awful disease.

“We can only continue this work through the help and dedication of our supporters and we are confident that by moving back into the city centre we can strengthen our individual and commercial relationships even further.

“Bruntwood have worked with us for a number of years and it’s thanks to their commitment and positive spirit that we have been able to make this move a reality. We are looking forward to working together for many years to come.”

Tony Reed, head of sales at Bruntwood, said: “Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation does incredible work on behalf of lung cancer patients and their families. It’s the only charity of its kind in the country and we should all be immensely proud that the charity was founded and remains in Liverpool.

“The Cotton Exchange is full of forward-thinking organisations and I’m confident it will give Paula and the team an ideal platform to take forward many of their ideas and secure a bright future for the charity.”
