Loungers opening its doors in Stretford Town Centre

Loungers have announced plans to open a bespoke café and bar “Fosforo Lounge” on King Street in Stretford town centre.

Loungers is set to offer a ‘home away from home’ with quality all day dining, a warm and welcoming atmosphere and unique, relaxed interiors. A mixture of pub, cafe bar and restaurant, Loungers are built on friendly service, quality ingredients and the venue provides a hub for the community.  Known for its large and diverse menu that takes in brunch, lunch, dinner, coffee, cake and cocktails, the Stretford Fosforo Lounge will bring fun, social and family-friendly dining to the neighbourhood.  It will create around 30 local jobs in the area. The new Loungers will be situated at 8 Pinnington Lane.

There are currently 273 Loungers across the country but no two venues are the same. Like all Loungers, the Stretford site on King Street will have its own individual identity and be tailored distinctively for Stretford. It is due to open in Autumn 2026.

    A spokesperson from Loungers commented:

“We’re delighted to be opening a brand new Loungers in Stretford. It’s a great town with a wonderful community and we can’t wait to be part of it. Fosforo Lounge will offer everything that our guests have come to expect from our brand - warm, welcoming service, a quality, relaxed menu and a place that feels like a home from home. We can’t wait to bring it all to Stretford.”

Chris Houghton, Head of Retail and Leisure from Bruntwood, added:

“We’re delighted that Loungers will be opening its doors in Stretford town centre later in the year with a vibrant new offering. The new anchor space will be a fantastic asset to the area and perfectly complements the hospitality and retail offering. We are confident it will be a great success with the local community and visitors alike.” Cllr Liz Patel, Trafford Council’s Executive Member for Economy and Regeneration, added:

"We're delighted that Loungers will soon join the growing food, drink and leisure scene in Stretford. I have no doubt that this popular brand will quickly establish a much-loved place to meet, hang out and relax with friends and family - and another good reason to visit and spend time in the vibrant, regenerated town centre."

Home to a range of independent and national brands Stretford town centre comprises the newly opened King Street, Pinnington Lane and Sir Tony Lloyd Square, a brand new public realm, which is firmly establishing itself as a thriving hub of community activity, events and entertainment.

The transformation of King Street is part of Bruntwood and Trafford Council’s town centre masterplan. The newly restored King Street will provide a thriving high street, with a mix of shops and services, hospitality and spaces for the community. More details of the retailers set to open on the high street will be announced in the coming weeks.
