First Occupier Announced For Foundation In Altrincham, As Lane7 Arrives At The Stamford Quarter

The Stamford Quarter is set to get a brand new independent bowling and entertainment venue, as Lane7 is confirmed as the first operator making its home at Bruntwood and Trafford Council’s Foundation building in Altrincham.

Lane7, the boutique bowling brand with 11 sites across the UK, will be taking over the 12,640 square foot lower ground floor of Foundation with an eight lane bowling destination.  It will provide an anchor for Foundation and for the Stamford Quarter as a whole, creating a fresh new leisure offering and delivering a boost for the area as it’s set to become an all day and night destination as part of Altrincham town centre.

Lane7 will join a burgeoning community of independent shops and brands in the Stamford Quarter, where Bruntwood and Trafford Council have been busy supporting many local businesses onto the high street as part of their vision to reimagine the town centre. This includes locally grown boutiques like Skanda Clothing, vinyl, coffee and beer specialists Stutter and Twitch, and Altrincham-based jewellery studio Muse.

Foundation marks a transformative new chapter for the Stamford Quarter bringing an exciting blend of retail, leisure and workspace to the heart of the highstreet and creating a welcoming gateway to Altrincham’s thriving town centre. Retail, hospitality and leisure brands will sit at the ground level providing a hub of shopping, dining, drinking and leisure. The hospitality businesses will spill out onto Stamford Square creating a thriving new neighbourhood for Altrincham  and completely transforming this side of the town centre.

Foundation will also be home to state of the art workspace for businesses of all sizes on the upper floor bringing a whole new community to the Stamford Quarter. Carefully designed to enhance wellbeing and productivity, the development will include large leased workspaces, as well as flexible coworking space to provide an exciting environment for freelancers and start-ups wishing to work in the town centre. It will be a place that actively enhances work life balance and improves the wellbeing of its communities.

James Tootle, Head of Retail & Leisure commented: “We’re thrilled to announce Lane7 as our first occupier at Foundation. Our ambition is to create a vibrant destination that transforms this side of Altrincham and Lane 7 is the perfect brand to cement this vision. Fiercely independent and brilliant at what they do, Lane7 will provide a superb leisure anchor for Foundation and the Stamford Quarter as a whole. Lane7 will sit alongside a whole collective of hospitality and retail brands at Foundation creating an exciting new hub at the heart of the Stamford Quarter”

Graeme Smith, Lane 7's Chief Operating Officer said: “The opportunity with this venue was exceptional and gives us an amazing blank canvas to be really creative.  We opened Lane7 Manchester and the response from our guests in the city has been phenomenal since opening more than two years ago, Altrincham seemed like the perfect fit.”

Cllr Liz Patel, Trafford Council’s Executive Member for Economy and Regeneration commented: “The redevelopment of Altrincham town centre is very exciting and we are delighted that Lane7 are on board with us. This will be a fabulous addition to the new Stamford Quarter.”
