Leading regional property company, Bruntwood has pre-let half of the high-quality research and innovation office space being brought forward at its landmark Didsbury Technology Park development.
A joint venture between Spire Healthcare, the leading independent hospital group in the United Kingdom and OrthTeam, a well-respected provider of consultant delivered musculoskeletal services, will take 10,000 sq ft of the new purpose-built commercial space being delivered under Phase One of development at the Park.
The move will see a new OrthTeam Centre established in the building, which is located alongside the existing Sir William Siemens House and the recently-launched £65 million Spire Manchester Hospital.
Formed over 10 years ago, OrthTeam are a well-established group of consultant surgeons and physicians, in the North West community. The group is excited that this move has enabled them to add neurology, pain management and diagnostic services to their existing orthopaedic, spinal surgery and sports medicine portfolio.
Spire Manchester Hospital has seen significant growth in its flagship hospital and is delighted that OrthTeam has chosen the same grounds for their headquarters.
Construction on Phase One of the new development, which sits off Princess Parkway in West Didsbury, is nearing completion. Subsequent phases will see the creation of two more buildings offering 135,000 sq ft of high quality office space, as well as a multi-storey car park and high quality landscaped environment.
Didsbury Technology Park is aimed at forward-thinking business who would benefit from being customers within a new technology park
Andrew Cooke, regional director at Bruntwood, said: “Didsbury Technology Park is going to be home to some of the most exciting, disruptive, and ambitious science and technology companies in the UK. We’re delighted to be kick-starting that trend by welcoming Spire Healthcare and OrthTeam – a company which is revolutionising private healthcare provision in the UK.
“We topped out Phase One of the development earlier this summer and our contractors are making good progress, with completion due in December.
“Our vision is to create a dynamic cluster of businesses at the site that will collaborate with each other and work closely with Siemens and Spire and OrthTeam. We’re looking forward to providing a brilliant base for these fast-growing science and tech companies – boosting the region’s already world-class strengths in this sector. Our intention is for the whole site to be fully developed and occupied by 2020.”
The nine acre site is being delivered by a strategic partnership of Bruntwood, Siemens, PJ Livesey and Manchester City Council. The site benefits from outstanding connectivity, with easy access to Manchester Airport and the Oxford Road Corridor innovation district.
