The Graduate Scheme at Bruntwood is a unique opportunity for talented individuals to gain exposure to a range of key business disciplines in their chosen specialism.
As we mentioned earlier this week, the 18-month programme opens for applications on the 2nd February and will see successful applicants placed in a chosen area of the business, experiencing a range of specialisms within their department through quarterly rotations.
The scheme is born out of our employer brand purpose: ‘Shape Your World’, an approach that does what it says on the tin and governs everything we do as an employer. It allows colleagues at Bruntwood to take charge of their career progression, learn new skills and get real job satisfaction. Our Graduate Scheme is just one expression of this philosophy: our Real Living Wage accreditation, promotion of a diverse workforce and commitment to constantly improving learning opportunities for colleagues, make us an employer of choice within a competitive market, while putting us in an excellent position to drive up standards for employment in the wider industry and beyond.
Our ultimate core purpose as a business is Creating Thriving Cities, and it is this which drives our employer brand, and indeed every decision we make. As part of our commitment to making our cities thrive, we prioritise the advancement of a fair and equal society. Our Graduate Scheme is an important element of that, empowering young people to learn and grow their careers, as well as enabling them to play a part in changing the business, and our cities, for the better with their fresh, unique perspectives and talents.
"The Graduate Scheme is a fantastic opportunity for our graduates to learn new skills and embed themselves in the business, said Jade Gates, Learning and Development Advisor at Bruntwood. “It's also a fantastic opportunity for us! We aim to be brilliant to work with and we always look for people who share that philosophy, so to welcome a new group of talented young people to the business is always exciting, and we look forward to helping them nurture their personal and professional growth."
Graduates will benefit from working for a business with a real sense of purpose and also from a breadth of experience through numerous opportunities to engage with some of the other ways we bring our purpose to life; for example, creating partnerships across our cities and investing in our communities in various ways.
Georgina D’Souza, a graduate on the 2019 programme who has since gone on to a permanent role as Marketing Executive at Bruntwood SciTech, said: “It’s given me an amazing opportunity to experience a variety of roles and sides of the business which has given me a really full understanding of how the business works as well as what opportunities are available to me.
“I use the knowledge I’ve gained and connections I’ve made across the business all the time as well now so this has been extremely valuable. It’s also been nice to know that there is a whole network in place for you when starting with a graduate role and a programme specifically designed to help you to thrive in your career.”
It’s so important to us to find bright, enthusiastic graduates who share our values. So, if you’re as excited about creating thriving cities as we are, we’d love to hear from you. Why not take a look at our Graduate Opportunities page where you’ll be able to apply from 2nd February. Once we’ve launched, the closing date will be the 28th February and we’ll be in touch with successful applicants soon after.
