Challenging Inequality Through Partnership

Bruntwood has teamed up with Zest as its new charity partner for Leeds.

Founded in 2002, Zest supports people living in disadvantaged areas of Leeds, offering everything from social clubs to cooking skills classes. By focusing on helping those of less fortunate backgrounds, the team aims to improve quality of life, rather than short term solutions, through promoting healthier lifestyles and enabling fulfilling lives.

We see this partnership being able to offer a lasting difference to the local community with a growing impact over time. Our Bruntwood colleagues and customers will help work towards the common goal of creating thriving cities, through fundraising, skills workshops and volunteering time through our Bruntwood Cares scheme.

Dom Charkin, Chief Executive Officer of Zest said: “Inequality affects us all. We believe passionately that everyone should have the same opportunities irrespective of where they live in Leeds. We are delighted to be entering into a partnership with Bruntwood, who share our vision.

“Through the partnership we will be able to raise greater awareness of the issues caused by inequality and the work Zest does to overcome them. Our partnership will help foster a spirit of cooperation between the organisations and staff and generate much needed additional support for our work.”

Genta Haxhija, Social Impact Project Manager at Bruntwood said: "We're proud to be supporting Zest in their mission to create fair opportunities for everyone in Leeds. The values of the organisation align perfectly with our own and our commitment to creating equal societies.

"The positive impact that the organisation has on disadvantaged areas of Leeds is clear through their work addressing health inequalities and social isolation. We aim to further support this work and further drive the already fantastic initiatives of the team."
