Bluedot Festival Returns for July 2022

Bluedot is back! After two years away due to COVID-19 restrictions, the unique festival is back with bang. Ahead of the main event on 21st-24th July 2022, Bruntwood are powering a special series of free daytime talks hosted in our spaces.
About Bluedot
Bruntwood became an official Bluedot partner in 2019. The four-day festival shines a light on Cheshire’s Jodrell Bank and the surrounding areas, promising a stellar line-up of science, music and cosmic culture.
With previous headliners including Underworld, Jean-Michel Jarre and Hot Chip, along with inspiring DotTalks from the likes of the UK’s first astronaut, Helen Sharman, the festival is a cornerstone for cultural enrichment. As passionate champions of arts, music and science, we see Bluedot as a natural partner and are proud to be continuing our association this year.
2022 headliners include Mogwai, Metronomy, Tim Peake and Bjőrk with the Hallé Orchestra. Tickets can be purchased for individual days or the full weekend here. It’s not one to be missed!

If July feels like an age away, you can get your Bluedot fix at our upcoming ‘In Conversation’ series. Bruntwood and Bluedot’s shared ethos of supporting science and culture means we’re pleased to be kickstarting important conversations, in this instance, around climate change and women’s rights.
26th April - Tom Heap, 39 Ways to Save the Planet, in Conversation with Chris Hawkins
Join us from 4-5pm on 26th April at our Bright Building in Manchester Science Park. Journalist and author, Tom Heap will be discussing his podcast series and book 39 Ways To Save The Planet in conversation with Chris Hawkins. Tom is a journalist and author covering science, environment, farming and energy stories. He is a regular presenter of BBC Countryfile and Costing the Earth on BBC Radio 4. 26th May - Helen Pankhurst in Conversation with Chris Hawkins
From 4-5pm on 26th May at Circle Square, Helen Pankhurst will be in conversation with Chris Hawkins. Helen is the great-granddaughter of Emmeline Pankhurst and granddaughter of Sylvia Pankhurst, leaders of the British suffragette movement. She is also a leading women’s right’s activist, author, senior advisor to CARE International, professor at Manchester University and Chancellor of the University of Suffolk.
