The best way to summarise Avalere Health is through our purpose, which is: every patient possible. We aim to get care to those who can't get access to it, and we do that by working with wonderful clients—from top pharma to biotech. We support them with three main capabilities: marketing, consulting advisory services, and medical communications.
We were born as a medical communications company over 20 years ago, and what we found is the talent here, the humans here, the people, the life, the vibrancy in Manchester was just too good not to grow. And so as we grew our talent base in Manchester, that grew our need for more physical space. We wanted to reinvent what we thought we could do with the physical space. So, we had a hub model, and we also wanted to balance that with allowing our people flexibility.
We think innovation happens with less rules. We want to draw people back to the physical space, and that was the brief we gave to the design team from SciTech. If you look around the space, I think you can see all of those zones playing a really cool action—from the first impression in the welcome area, into the kitchen 'heart of home' games area, and then through deep working right behind me into these meeting spaces and wellness rooms as well. So it feels inviting and energising. The design into the space plays heavily into workplace innovation, and that's what was exciting for us in this project.
We knew we didn't have actually, like, the internal capacity to manage a build and a fit-out. I think the true value in the partnership we brought with SciTech is the collaboration that we've been able to have together. It's been like a team—from laying out best-laid plans to the design, the fit-out, and then moving in. The process was fun. I think that's the best thing... the best piece of advice or best thing I can say is, like, we enjoyed the journey of it. It was so good to do it.
