UpRising is a national youth leadership development organisation. Its work provides routes to leadership and employment for 16-25 year olds who have talent, but lack opportunity.
UpRising want to change the face of power in this country - quite literally. Their mission is to break the cycle of unrepresentative power in the UK, by developing new, community-minded and socially-conscious leaders; so that our future decision-makers truly represent our diverse communities.
They are recognised at Government-level as a pioneering charity championing the critical issues surrounding diversity, social mobility and equality.
With a growing movement of over 3,300 UpRising Alumni across the UK, who importantly, remain involved in their community and with our work, the programme is full of the brightest young future leaders.
Bruntwood provides volunteers and spaces to support UpRising in realising their vision. We have also organised Cares Days to provide one to one conversations with young people and providing feedback for their CVs.
The Manchester programme, which we directly support, was launched in 2012 and has been nominated for the Spirit of Manchester and Northwest Charity Awards and its participants have gone onto achieve big things from getting jobs in world-renowned companies, moving onto education, starting businesses or joining trustee boards.
