Location ICentrum, Birmingham B7 4BH

Opening its doors in April 2016, iCentrum is Innovation Birmingham’s flagship space for business support and conferences. iCentrum comes fully furnished including; 40" and 65" promotional plasma screens, 6m+ wide HD video and presentation wall, free 30Gb/sec internet and superfast Wi-Fi.

iCentrum has 42, 149 sq ft of open workspace and self-contained offices. Set over three floors and a mezzanine level, the multi-million-pound building creates the optimum environment for innovative collaboration between start-ups and corporate partners. The facility is the hub for Innovation Birmingham’s core offerings (business support, office space, co-working space and venue hire). Offices from 140 sq ft and co-working space are available from just £118 per month.

Sitting at the heart of the iCentrum building, the Serendip Smart City Incubator provides market access and expertise for digital start-ups through close partnerships with major organisations, accelerating the early growth of new business. Current commercial partners onsite include: Gymshark, National Express, Tata Motors, Barclays, West Midlands Academic Health Science Network and the West Midlands Combined Authority.

Serendip provides a platform to refine products and services with real commercial partners; enabling entrepreneurs to take their business to investors whilst capitalising on commercial opportunities and routes to market.

Also based at the iCentrum building, the Innovation Engine business support programme provides free assistance to small and medium-sized enterprises throughout the region. The project, part-supported by the European Regional Development Fund, helps businesses to develop innovative services, processes and products for health, transport and sustainability sectors.

Supporting company teams faced with challenges, entrepreneurs within companies looking to develop ideas, or pre-entrepreneurs testing ideas before establishing a venture, this is a fantastic opportunity to initiate or improve a product and service offering by tapping into the project delivery partners' pool of knowledge and expertise. Current partners include Amey, Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Trust, the West Midlands Combined Authority, the University of Birmingham, University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust and Birmingham City University.
