CGI of new public realm for AP new build

Ambitious plans for the next phase of Alderley Park’s masterplan development have now been approved. The scheme will see Bruntwood SciTech, a 50:50 joint venture between Bruntwood and Legal & General, deliver two new buildings for lab and office space at Alderley Park in Cheshire, totalling around 200,000 sq ft.

The plans will support the development of the UK’s largest single-site life science campus, which is already home to over 250 companies, and will facilitate up to 1,600 new life science and tech jobs in the region. The developments will be the first newly built commercial spaces to be delivered since acquiring the site in 2014, and will follow the current £247m investment which consists of recent redevelopments including the 150,000 sq ft tech hub Glasshouse, £20m investment into 86,000 sq ft of new labs, and No. 11 Mereside - 35,000 sq ft of workspace.

Consisting of 100,000 sq ft of state-of-the-art CL2 lab space, and 100,000 sq ft of flexible, innovative office space, the two new buildings will be suitable for life sciences, technology and healthcare companies, particularly those working in drug discovery and development, medtech, diagnostics, digital health and AI.

Dr Kath Mackay, Director of Life Sciences, Bruntwood SciTech said: “We’re excited to embark on the next chapter at Alderley Park and support the continued growth of the life sciences sector in the UK. Today’s outcome marks a huge milestone for the Park and highlights our commitment to providing best-in-class life sciences facilities to support science and technology businesses across the nation.”
