Bruntwood secures pre-let for Didsbury Technology Park

    Leading regional property company, Bruntwood has pre-let half of the high-quality research and innovation office space being brought forward at its landmark Didsbury Technology Park development.

    A joint venture between Spire Healthcare, the leading independent hospital group in the United Kingdom and OrthTeam, a well-respected provider of consultant delivered musculoskeletal services, will take 10,000 sq ft of the new purpose-built commercial space being delivered under Phase One of development at the Park.

    The move will see a new OrthTeam Centre established in the building, which is located alongside the existing Sir William Siemens House and the recently-launched £65 million Spire Manchester Hospital.

    Formed over 10 years ago, OrthTeam are a well-established group of consultant surgeons and physicians, in the North West community. The group is excited that this move has enabled them to add neurology, pain management and diagnostic services to their existing orthopaedic, spinal surgery and sports medicine portfolio.

    Spire Manchester Hospital has seen significant growth in its flagship hospital and is delighted that OrthTeam has chosen the same grounds for their headquarters.

    Construction on Phase One of the new development, which sits off Princess Parkway in West Didsbury, is nearing completion. Subsequent phases will see the creation of two more buildings offering 135,000 sq ft of high quality office space, as well as a multi-storey car park and high quality landscaped environment.

    “We topped out Phase One of the development earlier this summer and our contractors are making good progress, with completion due in December.

Our intention is for the whole site to be fully developed and occupied by 2020.”

    The nine acre site is being delivered by a strategic partnership of Bruntwood, Siemens, PJ Livesey and Manchester City Council. The site benefits from outstanding connectivity, with easy access to Manchester Airport and the Oxford Road Corridor innovation district.

    Bruntwood has worked with architect Sheppard Robson and landscape architect Planit-IE on the three new office buildings which will create more than 155,000 sq ft of space over three stages. Retained agents are Cushman & Wakefield and JLL while Addleshaw Goddard acted for Bruntwood as legal advisers on the lettings deal.
