Bruntwood Scitech Partners With Form To Bring State-of-the-art Wellness Studio To Leeds

Bruntwood SciTech, the UK’s largest property platform dedicated to growing the science, tech, and innovation sector, has announced a new partnership with premier training brand, FORM, and will be opening a luxurious new wellness facility at its West Village development in Leeds city centre.

The first images of the new facility, called RESET Leeds, reveal a premium space inspired by nature accompanied with calming ambient lighting. The studio will host Yoga, Pilates and Barre classes, as well as mindfulness and wellbeing sessions. They will be delivered by a team of experienced instructors, open to all abilities, and will be available to both businesses based in West Village, as well as the general public. Businesses and their employees located in West Village will receive access to discounted classes and will have the opportunity to hire RESET privately for their teams.

An array of events, including a wellbeing morning, will be held in the run up to RESET Leeds opening, alongside special promotions, and further details on this will be announced closer to the time. RESET Leeds will open in Spring 2024 and staff recruitment is underway.

Bruntwood SciTech, its shareholder Bruntwood, and FORM have worked on several projects together since 2021, with premium wellness facilities being one of the core offerings that makes Bruntwood SciTech and Bruntwood workspaces stand out from its competitors.

West Village, currently known as West One and Castle House, is currently undergoing a £20m ambitious redevelopment to transform it into a 230,000 sq ft hub where innovation can thrive and collaborations are stimulated through a variety of coworking, serviced and leased spaces and activities where startups and large, established businesses can come together. Retail units at West Village, along Wellington Street, are also being enhanced as part of the project.

The design of the new workspace has sustainability and wellbeing at its heart, and is focused around a central courtyard with expansive biophilia, shared breakout spaces and local independent food and drink pop-ups. It will also offer a cafe, flexible event space, business lounge, the largest cycle storage facility in the city, and within its brand new four-storey extension feature two private terraces and roof gardens.

Improvements are being made to the building to reduce CO2 emissions, improve air quality, reuse rainwater, reduce noise and create new habitats for local birds and wildlife, including rare butterfly species. As part of the redevelopment, the building will be fitted with high efficiency air source heat pumps, sensor technology to promote the use of natural ventilation, new windows and additional wall insulation.

The milestone follows Bruntwood SciTech’s announcement last month of half a billion pounds of additional investment being made into the company to further support the UK’s science, tech and innovation sectors, welcoming a third shareholder in Greater Manchester Pension Fund, and the transfer of Bruntwood’s city centre portfolio to become city centre innovation hubs. This includes West Village and 14 King Street which now feature alongside its well established ‘home for tech’ Platform - adjoined to the city’s train station - creating a much larger cluster of innovation-based businesses who will contribute to the economic growth impact from the innovation sector to the city.

Australian fintech firm PEXA Group is the latest innovation business to announce West Village as its new home. The company will be making West Village its UK headquarters, which is now 65% pre-let, as it seeks to transform the conveyancing sector, and will benefit from joining Bruntwood SciTech’s UK-wide like-minded community of 1,100 startups, scaleups and global businesses and specialist growth support, which includes direct access to highly skilled talent, new markets, funding and a large professional services network. In Leeds specifically they will gain access to partners including FinTech North, LegalTech in Leeds, Leeds Beckett University, Leeds Digital, Women in Leeds Digital, Bruntwood SciTech’s Female Founders Incubator, and many more.

Andrew Cooke, Regional Director - Leeds for Bruntwood SciTech, said: “FORM delivers a uniquely focused and successful style of fitness and wellbeing that’s accessible to everyone, and RESET Leeds will be a fantastic asset for West Village and the wider city.

“The studio will deliver a range of wellness experiences, breaking down barriers to fitness and creating an inclusive environment to help everyone achieve their goals. The FORM philosophy perfectly complements what we are working to achieve at West Village and we’re delighted to be partnering with them. It’s so exciting to see the huge demand for workspaces in West Village already, and it’s testament to the high quality amenities, cutting-edge design, and rapidly growing cluster of high-growth, innovation-based businesses we are underway with bringing together.”
