Blank Street Launches New Manchester City Centre Store At Bruntwood SciTech’s Thread Works

Blank Street, the cult coffee brand taking the UK by storm, has confirmed it will be opening its fourth store in Manchester in late September. The new store will be at Thread Works on the corner of Portland Street and Oxford Street, the newly redefined innovation cluster from Bruntwood SciTech at the gateway to Manchester’s knowledge quarter. It will officially open its doors in September, serving up customer favourites from their delicious, specialty grade flat whites to the iconic White Chocolate Matcha, as well as limited-edition seasonal menu drops.

Beginning as a coffee cart in the garden of a Brooklyn diner in 2020, Blank Street now has UK locations in London, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Manchester. The brand is focused on perfecting every detail - from the highest quality product to the perfect in store experience - to ensure the best possible experience for its customers.

Its arrival at Thread Works marks an exciting new addition to the recently transformed cluster, located on the corner of Portland Street and Oxford Street and home to innovative businesses such as Embryo, WW+P and Social Chain. With its central community hub 117-119 Portland Street having undergone a £6 million transformation earlier this summer, Thread Works boasts a unique blend of heritage character and cutting-edge facilities including a state-of-the-art gym, boutique gym-quality showers and changing facilities, and a variety of breakout spaces, meeting rooms and lounge spaces.

The new Blank Street store will provide a valuable space for the Thread Works and wider Manchester community to relax and socialise, as well as providing a delicious range of food and drink to enjoy.

Matt Pazos, Retail Commercial Manager for Bruntwood SciTech, said: “We’re thrilled to be welcoming Blank Street Coffee to Thread Works, and to have such a hugely popular brand be part of the community and this area of Manchester city centre. They’ll make a fantastic addition to the facilities that are available across the buildings - offering a wide array of drinks and food as well as a valuable space to relax, unwind, and socialise. We look forward to seeing the brand make its mark at Thread Works over the coming months.”

Ignacio Llado, Co-Founder of Blank Street added:

“Manchester has proven to be a great home for Blank Street, and the loyalty of our locals has led us to now opening our fourth store in the city. We are all about transforming everyday moments into extraordinary ones, and so we are so excited to be able to offer this to even more of our Mancunian customers.”
