On the terribly sad news of the passing of Steve Mycio, Former Chairman of Central Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (CMFT),
Current CMFT Chairman, Kathy Cowell OBE DL said "It is with great sadness we learned yesterday (Sunday) that our former Chairman and dear friend, Steve Mycio, passed away peacefully at home with his family beside him. Although this will not be unexpected, it is still heart-breaking to pass on the news of his loss to you all.
Steve was very focussed on doing the best for patients and led our organisation with great energy and commitment.
We will be opening a book of condolence this week in our Multi-Faith Centre and a service of remembrance will be arranged in due course.
Our thoughts are with his family at this sad time."
Rowena Burns CEO, MSP & Chris Oglesby, Chairman of MSP and CEO of Bruntwood added "Steve has been an exceptional asset to the people of Manchester, through a lifetime of public service.
We welcomed him as Chair of CMFT, for his wisdom, knowledge, courage and passion. We were excited by the prospect of working together to deliver his future vision for this wonderful hospital, and we will honour his memory by keeping people and patients at the heart of what we do."
