Bruntwood Partners with Regeneration Brainery to Support the Next Generation of Property Professionals

Bruntwood is known for our long-term approach, whether that’s investing in places or solving societal challenges. We look at the bigger picture and work with partners who share our vision for a brighter future. Two of our key focuses as part of our mission to create thriving cities are creating a fairer society and supporting young people. So our latest partnership with Regeneration Brainery really was a no brainer!

About Regeneration Brainery

Regeneration Brainery is a not-for-profit organisation that aims to get more young people into property and regeneration. It’s no surprise then that Bruntwood wants to support the next generation of property professionals. The not-for-profit runs Braineries, 5-day get-togethers for young people, from school leavers to undergraduates. During these bootcamps, Brainees learn from experienced property professionals and get their first taste of the industry.

Our Partnership

As part of our partnership, Bruntwood will be providing office space to host the charity’s Braineries across Manchester, Leeds and Liverpool, as well as supporting city tours across our regions to enhance young people’s understanding of the built environment and encouraging them to take the ‘big-picture’ approach to development that Bruntwood adopts.

The Braineries also provide a great opportunity for Bruntwood colleagues to volunteer as mentors to the ‘Brainees’. Through these sessions, colleagues can provide industry insights as well as supporting CV writing and interview skills workshops.

Bruntwood will also receive consultancy support from the Regeneration Brainery team. Working closely with our People Team, Regeneration Brainery will help us craft relevant, engaging apprenticeship and graduate recruitment campaigns. Together, we hope to break down preconceptions about the property industry, and specifically reach out to talent that is underrepresented within Bruntwood. The partnership will guide more young people who are at a socio-economic disadvantage into the world of work, providing the opportunities, experience and network that they need to succeed.

Supporting Young People

Bruntwood’s Social Impact Project Manager, Emily Mathew says: “Today’s young people are tomorrow’s leaders, so we know how important it is to help shape the next generation of property professionals.

“The world of business and careers can be hard to decipher as a young person and that’s why hands-on experience is so important! Connecting with people in the industry gives young people genuine insight into a career in property and lights the spark for a meaningful career. It’s fulfilling to think that the leaders of the property industry in ten year’s time could well have chosen their career as a result of attending a ‘Brainery’ hosted by Regeneration Brainery in a Bruntwood building.

“I also love that this partnership offers a hands-on way for our colleagues to support emerging talent. Engaging more people at Bruntwood with Rengeraton Brainery allows us to enhance our social impact, helping more young people across the North and Midlands.”

Head of Regeneration Brainery, Judi Greenwood says: “We are so delighted to be working with Bruntwood who are supporting our commitment to growth. This is a fantastic opportunity to bring other talents into the industry and offer an equal opportunity to all.”
