Bruntwood invites local community to help shape the future of Booths Park
By Bruntwood

We are inviting the local community to help shape proposals for the next phase of its Booths Park masterplan, as it seeks to bring forward much-needed housing to the Knutsford community and enhance public access to the historic parkland with new active travel routes creating greater connections across the estate.
The proposed development will deliver 300 new homes, offering a mix of for-sale and rental properties to cater to a range of housing needs, from young professionals to downsizers. Set within 220 acres of Cheshire parkland, the development will introduce new footpaths and cycleways to enhance connectivity for both residents and businesses. While the workspace offering is evolving to meet changing demand, the area remains a vibrant hub for work and community life.
Set among the idyllic Mere and lush parklands of Booths Park, the development will be a key milestone in the Park’s ongoing transformation into a vibrant mixed-use community, seamlessly blending life and leisure amongst the anchoring office development.
This addition of housing and enhanced public access will see Booths Park’s flourishing atmosphere spill outside of typical office hours, driving more investment into the local economy from businesses looking to join and cater to a growing and diverse community.
In line with completed projects at Booths Park, maintaining the historic character of the area, while enhancing accessibility and inclusivity, will remain a priority. Repurposing previously developed land in the area for almost half (45%) of the homes, including former car parks and vacant office buildings, these thoughtfully designed homes will continue to integrate the beauty of the rich heritage with newer developments to create a community where people can thrive.
The neighbourhood, including at least 30% affordable housing interspersed throughout, will be pivotal in accelerating Knutsford's progress toward meeting the ambitious housing targets of Cheshire East by increasing the number of homes that meet local needs.
Alongside increasing housing options for existing residents and easing the affordability pressures around the currently limited supply, the plans will also encourage greater numbers of people to consider Knutsford as their next home. With the population size stagnant since 2021, an aging population has impacted local business due to reduced workforce retention. This boost in residents will bolster the local economy and businesses for the long term.
The drop-in public consultation event will take place on Friday 28th February at Booths Hall from 3pm to 8pm for residents to learn more about the emerging masterplan from the project team and share their thoughts.
For those unable to attend the event, you can view the proposals and share your feedback online at boothsparkconsultation.co.uk from 9am on Tuesday 25th February until 5pm on Friday 14th March.
Chris Roberts, Chief Development Officer at Bruntwood, said: "Our commitment to Booths Park’s future is built on a long-term partnership with the local community. As part of this ongoing collaboration, we are excited to engage with residents again to help shape the proposals for the neighbourhood that will soon be submitted for planning approval to Cheshire East Council.
“It’s no secret that there’s a real need for great housing in the area, but just more houses aren’t going to solve the challenges the area is facing. Through a diverse housing offering and improved access to the historic park for our communities, our plans will ensure that residents, local businesses and the Knutsford economy all benefit from the Park’s longstanding value.”
