Bruntwood Accredited for their Commitment to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion

The All Equals Charter, Manchester Pride’s programme to support businesses with their inclusivity practices, has awarded a Good Practice accreditation level to commercial property specialists, Bruntwood.

The All Equals Charter is Manchester Pride’s programme to help businesses and organisations understand, recognise and challenge any form of discrimination in the workplace. The charter aims to make the workplace inclusive, diverse and equal for marginalised people.

Jen Atkins, Bruntwood's People Director, said: "Our purpose at Bruntwood is to create thriving cities and we believe that the most creative and vibrant environments are those with diverse communities. The biggest asset of both our cities and our business is the people. That’s why we’re committed to being a truly diverse and inclusive workplace, where all of our colleagues are encouraged and empowered to speak up, and share their experiences and ideas.

"The All Equals Charter provides a framework through which we can hold ourselves accountable in making the workplace as inclusive and diverse as possible. It also sends a clear message to colleagues, customers and other businesses that we're serious about supporting LGBTQ+ people across the business and beyond."

All Equals Charter members strive towards accreditation from Entry Level up to Role Model Level. The members are invited to follow a set of commitments and principles, they are then regularly assessed to ensure their workplace, services and company promotes and embeds equality and diversity for all members of marginalised communities.

Dr. Christopher Owen, Manchester Pride's Inclusivity Development Manager said: “I am really impressed by how thorough and robust Bruntwood’s internal LGBTQ+ inclusion initiatives are, demonstrating their authentic support of LGBTQ+ people across their business. Their work to support local marginalised communities is really impressive, and I am excited to see how they will further develop these initiatives in future.

“As they move forward, I am hopeful to see Bruntwood use their incredible influence to further help make large-scale social change. Bruntwood has a real opportunity to be leaders in inclusion, and I am optimistic their incredibly inclusive team will be up to the task!”

The feedback provided by the All Equals Charter facilitates organisations to develop an action plan to further improve equality in the workplace and services for the LGBTQ+ and other marginalised communities living in the UK and further afield.
