Wishing Tree 2020

It’s the heartfelt wishes
It’s wanting to share the joy
It’s the little things that make a big difference
That’s why we’re working with our charity partners again this year
Join us and make a difference to those in need this Christmas

We’re excited to be working with our charity partners again this year to spread joy this Christmas for those in need across our regions.

The charities and the people that they support have asked for gifts that would make their Christmas extra special.

This year, we’ve moved our campaign online so that you can gift directly to those in need. You can find ideas of what they’ve asked for by heading to each of the charity sections below and either donate towards a specific item or give a general donation.

Last year, we were overwhelmed by the generosity of our customers who donated over 2,000 gifts - and we’re looking for your support and kindness again this year. Help us reach our goal this year of 2,500 gifts to make sure the children have the Christmas they deserve.

How to gift

We know some of you might not be in your buildings as frequently right now, so we’ve made sure it’s just as easy to gift online via Giftster. Simply choose which charity you would like to donate to, select an online tag(s) from the links below and start gifting.

Birmingham

The Growing Project x Grand Union

In Birmingham, we’re supporting The Growing Project, a community-led growing scheme working with organisations that support the vulnerably-housed and people in crisis. Aiming to ‘Green-Sense’ the city, The Growing Project improves sites across Birmingham by growing food and creating green spaces which are developed, tended and nurtured by homeless people in partnership with specialist organisations.

Our partner Grand Union Gallery is working with artists and professionals to offer green solutions for a post-industrial landscape. The Growing Project creates an invaluable space for participants, contributors and collaborators to share stories, food and conversation with local landowners, developers and government policymakers, bringing vulnerable people in crisis into a conversation about our collective future.

Leeds

Slung Low

Slung Low is renowned for both its theatre and the work it does with its local community in South Leeds; they operate a food bank, a cultural community college, and manage the country’s oldest working men’s club. This year, they have launched a scheme to give every child in Holbeck a book.

Slung Low currently can’t take their shows into schools and share them with children. So they’ve taken one of their most beloved shows and turned it into a book, Emergency Story Penguin follows Lady Grace Thompson and her crew on an adventure around the secret underground tunnels that connect every theatre.

We want to help Slung Low provide every child in Holbeck with a book, which might be their only book, by Christmas and you can help. We've donated 125 books on behalf of our Leeds customers and we'd love to see that number rise. You can buy or donate a copy for £8 OR You can buy two copies for just £12. Slung Low will send one book to you, and the other they will gift to a child in Leeds.

Visit their website for more information and to purchase. Please quote Bruntwood in the message box when you order, or let us know you've donated by emailing wendy.denman@bruntwood.co.uk.
