This website offers the opportunity to view the proposals for West One, Castle House and 100 Wellington Street and provide any feedback or raise any questions you may have. Your views and opinions are important to us and we appreciate your input to shape our proposals. This process ensures that the most appropriate scheme is developed for future users, the community and its surroundings.

    Our Proposals

The proposals will deliver façade improvements and a complete internal refurbishment of Castle House to complement West One, creating a cluster of buildings to bring together innovative and like-minded businesses. The proposals will also deliver one of Leeds’ first Net Zero Carbon commercial developments with both embodied carbon in the construction of the new extensions and operational carbon of the estate as a whole.

The transformational project will connect the buildings through a new entrance experience in the central courtyard, and blend high-quality workspace with an independent retail and hospitality offering, as well as a new cycle hub and wellbeing space for customers. A new extension within the existing courtyard will link West One and Castle House and house a single new main entrance for both buildings. The extension connecting the buildings will also benefit from a series of stepped roof terraces.

In addition, as part of these proposals, Bruntwood are planning to completely re-landscape the currently underutilised central courtyard to completely refresh the space with new trees, planting and increased biodiversity; green walls; high quality material choices and a variety of seating types; a new green and attractive environment to create a more enjoyable space for our customers, local residents and visitors to sit outside and socialise. Fully open to the public, it is envisaged that this space will create a communal space with events and activities at its heart, bringing vibrancy into the space.

The proposed development by Bruntwood Works will see a full refurbishment and extension to the landmark West One and Castle House buildings to allow their continued use as modern workspaces. Refurbishment works to their external facades of the existing buildings will provide a much more aesthetically pleasing aspect, in keeping with recent regeneration of neighbouring sites and contributing towards wider regeneration proposals for the West End of Leeds City Centre.

Have your say now. The consultation will run from 24th August to the 10th September.
