Bruntwood SciTech is proud to bring you STEM Factor - a new learning initiative for children of all ages to create, learn and discover STEM subjects...

What is it?

STEM factor is a new learning initiative launched by Bruntwood SciTech to help educate and inspire children to explore STEM-based challenges and subjects. So if you're a parent of carer looking for ways to entertain and educate your children, then STEM Factor could be the perfect project to get involved in. 

This new project will let you supercharge your curriculum with help from a rich and diverse community of innovators and businesses, who will deliver challenges suitable for everyone! Expect 3D design, hacks, future robots, coding and electronics. The third challenge will be launched on the 7th May, with a new challenge released every two weeks, thereafter. 

Prizes 

Alongside the glory and the STEM Factor Champion accolade, we will be awarding prizes to the top three innovators.

CHALLENGE THREE:  WATERING SPOUT  (Suitable for 5+) Released 07/05/2020

Have you got a garden or plants around the house?. If so, it's very important to keep them hydrated, especially in summer months. We challenge you to create your own custom 3d print watering sprout, to help feed your favourite veggies or plants. A step by step guide has been created here to help you on your green finger journey - good luck!

Any profits DiceyTech make from 3D printing are reinvested into purchasing materials used to 3D print face shields for NHS staff during the coronavirus pandemic.

CHALLENGE ONE - Cookie Monster (For Little STEAMers - Suitable for 5+ ) Released 14/04/2020

Learn it, design it, build it, eat it!

We challenge you to create your own personalised 3D printed cookie cutter, while learning the basics of CAD and design-thinking. An entry level activity that will inspire all foodie and techy lovers . Start here.

CHALLENGE TWO -  Robotic Egg Painter ( Suitable for 12+) 

Released 14/04/2020

Using child friendly robotics kits, children will be guided through the process of building and programming a simple robot ….that can paint eggs! As they do so, they will be developing intermediate CAD Skills in Fusion 360, as well as Python and physical computing using the BBC Micro:Bit and servo motors. Our new inventors will be learning with a focus on problem solving, creativity and collaboration.
