The next phase for Citylabs is a £60m, 220,000 sq ft expansion to create Citylabs 2.0 & 3.0 within MFT's hospital campus. Citylabs 2.0 & 3.0 will be immediately surrounded by the Manchester Royal Infirmary, Royal Manchester Children's Hospital, Manchester Royal Eye Hospital, and Saint Mary's Hospital.
Businesses which locate here have direct access to MFT's specialist clinical resources and expertise from researchers, clinicians and procurement teams, as well as MSP's specialist growth support and events programme - including access to funding, talent, new markets and university resources. You will also join MSP's community of over 300 like-minded science and technology businesses.
Citylabs 2.0 & 3.0 will become a national hub for precision medicine and data analytical businesses, to accelerate innovation in these sectors and adopt them within patient care at pace and scale through collaboration.
Citylabs 2.0 will be a 92,000 sq ft new build directly opposite the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital and Ronald MacDonald House, within MFT's hospital campus.
With Grade A office space and state of the art laboratory facilities, Citylabs 2.0 is the first phase of the campus expansion, with construction due to begin October 2018 and completion expected summer 2020. Once complete, we anticipate Citylabs 2.0 and 3.0 will bring additional economic growth in excess of £100million and over 750 new jobs to the city
